Head of Department Message

Since the establishment of Amman Arab University in 1999 as a university specializing in graduate studies, the Department offers a master's degree in Computer Science, where it was previously awarded a doctorate degree in computer science as well.

It attracts increasing numbers of students from Jordan and other countries to study in the master's program, which is characterized by flexibility and sobriety and in terms of applying the general standards of national and international quality and keeping abreast of its plans and curricula.

The Department provides computer faculty members who graduated from the finest universities in the world, and known for their scientific, research and professional experience, and it is keen to review and update the curriculum and learning styles, methods and the providing of infrastructure of devices and operating systems.

It also interacts with the academic local, regional and global professional community through initiatives, forums, conferences and publishing in well reputable journals journals specializing in the field, seminars and lectures

About the Department

About the Master of Computer Science (M.Sc.):

The Master of Computer Science (M.Sc.) is a degree program that includes advanced coursework in computer networks, algorithms, artificial intelligence, operating systems, and research methodologies in computer science. Moreover, students will gain several skills such as knowledge of a variety of programming languages, specialist understanding of computer science theories, methods, practices, and strategy. Furthermore, several jobs are related to M.Sc degree include application analyst, applications developer, data analyst, Cybersecurity analyst, and database

Vision

Excellence in teaching, learning, scientific research, and community service in computer science and information systems fields locally and regionally.

Mission

Preparing qualified students with competencies in computer science and information systems fields, having the applied and research knowledge and the skills to meet the requirements of the labor market and local community institutions according to quality criteria locally and internationally.

Program Mission:

Preparing qualified students in computer science fields to meet local and international standards and community requirements according to eLearning criteria.

Educational Program Objectives:

  1. Acquiring various skills and knowledge in light of the rapid change in software and computing fields.
  2. Providing research competencies in computer science as a basis for postgraduate studies.
  3. Providing students with analytical knowledge and skills to find effective and creative solutions for practical and research problems.
  4. Qualifying specialists with the ability to make changes, development, and innovation in computer science.


Educational Program Outcomes:
The expected outcomes of this program are preparing graduates competent in: 

  1. Applying knowledge, mathematical methods, and algorithm in computer aspects.
  2. Analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating computing and simulation systems.
  3. Realizing computing impacts and technological development on individuals, organizations, and societies.
  4. Using methods of analysis. and problem solving.
  5. Using the appropriate techniques and tools in conducting research.
