A Training Course to Acquire Injection and Blood Drawing Skills at "Amman Arab University-College of Pharmacy"

College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Health Center at Amman Arab University, organized a training course entitled “Acquiring Injection and Blood Drawing Skills,” presented by Dr. Ahmed Al-Daja, Acting Director of the Center and the medical staff at the Center represented by Nurse Shadi Hammad and Nurse Sanaa Beltagy, which aimed to link theoretical knowledge with application and enhancing students’ practical skills and abilities on how to administer medications through different types of injections, which are an effective way to administer medications to patients

The training course included training students on how to use several types of injections, such as: intramuscular, intravenous, subcutaneous, and abdominal injections, as well as drawing blood from a vein, and introducing them to common mistakes in use and how to avoid them. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of adhering to infection control procedures and the necessity of maintaining On the cleanliness and sterilization of medical tools used in injections, the necessity of choosing the appropriate syringe for different ages, and the steps and locations of intramuscular injection.

It is noteworthy that the course was attended by (45) male and female students from various university colleges and specializations, who expressed their great interest in developing these vital skills, as these vital courses come within the framework of the university and college’s commitment to providing the best educational and training opportunities for its students in the field of pharmacy and health care.
