College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at "Amman Arab University" Participates in the "Educational and Career Counseling: Reality and Ambition" Conference
College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University participated in the second educational conference, "Educational and Career Counseling: Reality and Ambition", which was held at Al-Balqa Applied University in cooperation with the Directorate of Education and Education of Salt.
A faculty member in the Department of Psychological and Educational Counseling, Dr. Rand Arabiyat, represented the college, a scientific paper on vocational counseling and exploring tendencies, reviewing the history of the development of the use of vocational counseling, and the most important theories in vocational counseling, including Jeans Berg's theory and Holland's theory.
Dr. Arabiyat stated that vocational counseling aims to build a positive self-concept, achieve mental health, assist in decision-making, and improve the educational process. She tackled also the interest of the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University in developing the personality type and professional tendencies tests within the "electronic career planning" project, which was made available through an electronic link with the aim of helping students to plan their careers and determine the appropriate professions and environment for them, which appear as an urgent need for students after the ninth grade, as well as for university students, and when starting or changing work.
The University's participation in such conferences stems from the belief in the importance of partnership with local community institutions and the exchange of experiences and educational ideas that contribute to developing the expertise of educational counselors and raising the level of education in various educational subjects.
