College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University Enhances its Participation in Significant Pharmaceutical Conferences

Coping with the directives of the administration of the Amman Arab University, represented by its President, Prof. Mohamed Al-Widyan, to improve the level of scientific research, Prof. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, participated and a number of faculty members at the College in the first pharmaceutical conference entitled "Exploring New Fields in Pharmaceutical Sciences", which was held at the Hashemite University.

During the activities of the conference, Dr. Sama Taha, Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Innovation and Biotechnology, presented a lecture entitled "Innovation of a unique pharmaceutical treatment for the treatment of stomach cancer." through which she presented an innovative method based on genetic and physical targeting to reduce side effects, stressing the importance of transferring this innovation to the stage of clinical trials, which was able to reduce the disbursement of huge amounts on the health system.

Dr. Nusseibeh Al-Qatish, an assistant professor in the application of pharmaceutical technologies for the development of advanced treatments, also delivered a lecture entitled "Development of nanotransmitters and their use in gene therapy," in which she reviewed the assessment of the biological and physical performance of nanotransitters after the addition of auxiliary molecules, in order to develop a system that transports genetic material to the targeted cells in the gene therapy of many diseases.

It is noteworthy that the conference was attended by a number of faculty members at the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University: Dr. Sarah Nasser Al-Din, Dr. Hala Al-Habashna, Dr. Mai Al-Hawamdeh, and Dr. Dina Abu Saleh. This participation comes as part of the efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University in promoting scientific research, raising the level of academic and research communication with local universities and promoting global competition.
