The Advisory Council of the Software Engineering Department at Amman Arab University Discusses Plans for Academic Development and Qualification for the Labor Market

Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, Dean of the College of Computer Sciences and Informatics at Amman Arab University, stressed during the meeting of the Advisory Council of the Software Engineering Department at the College the importance of developing academic programs to meet the increasing requirements of the labor market. The meeting, which was chaired by Dr. Al-Hamad and in the presence of many prominent members in the field of information technology, focused on new majors that have recently been developed, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and plans have been prepared to qualify students with practical life through implementing project-based educational projects and applied workshops.

Dr. Fatima Al-Shunnaq, Head of the Software Engineering Department at the College of Computer Sciences and Information at Amman Arab University, pointed out the importance of preparing new study plans that are compatible with local and international accreditation standards, including applied courses to enhance students’ practical skills.

During the meeting, the Council members stressed the need to continue regularly updating academic programs and providing training opportunities in leading companies in the field of information technology, with the aim of qualifying students to meet the constantly changing needs of the labor market.

In addition to the Council’s vision that these steps will play a decisive role in enhancing the competitiveness of the College of Computer Sciences and Information and improving the quality of education it provides, work will be done to implement the improvement proposals that were presented during the meeting to ensure achieving the desired objectives in the future.
