Students and Graduates of the College of Computer Sciences and Informatics at Amman Arab University have a Distinctive Presence in the Droidcon Amman 24 Conference

Coping with Amman Arab University’s keenness to continue in supporting students and developing their practical and scientific skills, the University’s College of Computer Sciences and Informatics participated in the Droidcon Amman 24 conference, which was held from January 18 to 20, 2024, where a group of students and graduates from the College of Computer Sciences and Informatics highlighted the Amman Arab University’s active participation in the conference activities, as the “DroidCon” conference is the franchise name for a series of community conferences in Europe that focus on developing smart phone software that runs on Google’s Android system, and it is considered the largest Android developer conferences held outside the United States of America.

The students participated in the conference through four innovative projects within the Hackathon Challenge, and presented their ideas and technical potential in forming work teams and completing tasks quickly and efficiently while presenting the projects to the public, in addition to the prominent participation in the challenge and the students’ attendance at meetings presented by industry experts in the field of Android development, which contributed to expanding their knowledge of the latest technologies used in the labor market at the global and local levels.

As part of their participation and experience during the conference, the students praised the role of Amman Arab University and the College of Computer Sciences and Informatics at the University in providing them with opportunities to participate in important events such as this conference, and they confirmed their positive interaction with the organizers and prominent participants in the field of software development.

On this occasion, the Dean of the College of Computer Sciences r and Informatics at Amman Arab University, Dr. Hus am Al-Hamad, stressed the importance of the college’s plan to integrate academic education with the professional aspect with the aim of directing students towards a better understanding of the available job opportunities. He also pointed to the efforts of the University and the college in providing all opportunities to train and qualify students, enable them to successfully integrate into the labor market and achieve academic excellence.
