Amman Arab University Participates in the Third National Debate Championship
As part of the extracurricular activities that the Deanship of Student Affairs at Amman Arab University is keen to participate in, to continuously work on developing potential of its students, increasing their ability to engage in dialogue, participating in University tournaments in various cultural debates, and providing them with the education and knowledge that extracurricular experiences gain them, and under the guidance of the University President, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, a team, represented by the students: (Mohammed Al-Azzam, Rakan Zureikat, Abrar Ghanem, Malak Sami) participated in the activities of the third national championship for Jordanian university debates, organized by Al-Hussein Technical University in partnership with the Foundation for Debate and Thought, over the course of (3) days. This is done with continuous follow-up by the team supervisor throughout the training period, Ms. Shatha Al-Rabie/ Head of the Counseling and Psychological Services Department in the Deanship of Student Affairs.
This tournament, whose opening ceremony was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor. Khalid Bani Hamdan, along with the participating students, came in fulfillment of the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, to empower youth and enhance their presence in all regional and international forums, as he participated in the tournament activities ( 28) A Jordanian university from the bachelor’s level, to discuss various topics according to the approved international model for debates, in which students compete in a safe and creative environment that enhances the values of positive difference and constructive dialogue and enables them to have analytical and critical thinking skills and develop their rhetorical, linguistic and mental abilities.
It is noteworthy that the Amman Arab University team was honored by presenting certificates of participation in the closing ceremony that was held on the stage of the Business Park in the presence of Professor. Khaled Bani Hamdan and Shatha Al-Rabie.
