Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Amman Arab University Participates in the Session of the International Court of Justice in Hague

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Amman Arab University, the well-known lawyer Dr. Omar Mashhour Al-Jazi, participated in the session of the International Court of Justice as a “volunteer” in The Hague/Netherlands, after the State of South Africa filed a lawsuit against the Zionist entity and condemned it for “genocide in Gaza.”

Dr. Al-Jazi spoke about his participation in Hague via a phone call with Al-Mamlaka TV, saying: The countries that announced their intention to enter into this lawsuit, led by Jordan, can submit their pleas, as today’s plea in the International Court of Justice was comprehensive, sufficient, and full of conclusive evidence condemning Israel, and he considered regardless of the measures that the International Court of Justice will take as a victory for humanity and justice, the atmosphere in the court was “enthusiastic” from outside and inside, and comfortable for all those informed and specialists in the field.

He pointed out that the occupying state is a member of the Genocide Convention, and cannot evade the court’s jurisdiction, but Israel will try to evade and challenge the court’s jurisdiction for several reasons.

He continued, that the reasons for Israel's disavowal may be weak, and they may be legitimized, such as the fact that some judges belong to countries that do not recognize Israel or its right to exist, hoping that there will be urgent measures that bind Israel, restrain it, and stop its terrorist operations and military operations against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Dr. Al-Jazi explained that there are many results that may result when a condemnation decision is issued against Israel after accepting jurisdiction, and some urgent matters may lead to the isolation of Israel within the United Nations, and if there is a complete condemnation of Israel, Al-Jazi said, “The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court can move and prosecute the criminals." The Zionist war. He stated that no one has the luxury of time, especially the Palestinians in Gaza, saying: “What we hope for the court to take urgent measures to stop the bloody, barbaric, crazy military operations.

He also said: “This is the first time that the International Court of Justice can witness it,” as the Extermination Convention was legislated to protect the Jews who were saved from the Holocaust, and the same convention will be used against this country. Al-Jazi pointed out that many of the countries that will implement the decisions, as we know Israel is supported by advanced Western countries, and we know that the American veto is always present to save it, but these matters change because the concept of justice is held by the people who put pressure on Western countries. Al-Jazi stressed that the decisions that are implemented have financial consequences to compensate the families of the martyrs, victims, and the wounded. This will have a huge financial cost to the occupation.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Omar Al-Jazi is the son of Lieutenant General Mashhour Haditha Al-Jazi, commander of the Battle of Karama, where the Jordanian Arab Army performed wonderful heroism in defending the precious Jordan, which forced Israel for the first time in its military history to request a ceasefire.

Dr. Al-Jazi is a Jordanian lawyer and a well-known international arbitrator in the field of business. He obtained a doctorate in international commercial arbitration law from the University of Kent at Canterbury in the United Kingdom. He has been Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Amman Arab University” since 2012.
