Deanship of Student Affairs/Office of Career Guidance and Graduate Follow-up, in cooperation with the College of Engineering at Amman Arab University, organized a training course entitled “Reviving the Values of Traditional Architecture in Designing Markets,” directed at the undergraduate students, graduates, and the local community, presented by Dr. Maan Abu Sheikha and Dr. Muhammad Abu Hussein from the College of Engineering. This training course received a great interaction from the trainee students, and the implementation of this course is regarded as one of the training courses and workshops implemented by the office in cooperation with academic colleges within the student’s skills portfolio.

The course aimed to clarify the concepts of architectural design and the diversity of horizons for borrowing from the historical architectural heritage and how to use it in modern architecture. The lecturers talked about the designs of similar commercial malls, regardless of their sizes and locations in various parts of the world, in addition to explaining the design of traditional Arab popular markets with beautiful, diverse and multiple designs. During the course, the students produced unique, new and unusual designs for modern malls, thanks to their good adaptation of the architectural and cultural heritage of traditional Arab markets.
