Based on the mission of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, which aims to achieve leadership and innovation in pharmacy, and out of concern for the need to develop strategies for the educational and learning process, and with an aspiration to prepare a promising generation of future pharmacists capable of competing and excelling in meeting the requirements of the local and international market, as well as keeping pace with technological changes and developments and adaptation with the changes in the professional life of pharmacy, the Professional Training Committee at the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University launched its first activities for the new academic year 2023/2024.

This activity is implemented through a training workshop for faculty members and administrative staff on the My Dispense virtual pharmaceutical training program affiliated with Monach University in Australia, which is ranked among the first fifty universities in the world. This workshop comes after the tireless effort made by the members of the committee in cooperation with the Monach University team in Australia to establish this program and activate it in the country. The College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University is the first private Jordanian university to have implemented this program.

In this regard, Professor. Rana Abu Haweij, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, expressed her pride in the achievements of the pioneering field training committee, which are added to the series of pioneering achievements of the College of Pharmacy, including the progress to place the Bachelor of Pharmacy program within the Jordanian National Qualifications Framework, as well as the application for the American Accreditation Certificate for Education Pharmacist, in addition to progressing to develop quality postgraduate programs.

Prof. Abu Haweij also added that the training committee today, headed by Ms. Mai Al-Hawamdeh, was able to activate the training simulation program for pharmacy students and prepare approximately (200) clinical cases that simulate reality, enabling the student to practice the pharmaceutical profession through the virtual world and practice and learn the various field pharmaceutical skills required by the graduate of the College of Pharmacy, such as dispensing medications, providing accurate pharmaceutical consultations to the patient, determining appropriate doses, correct methods of storing medication, monitoring side effects of the medication, and other various pharmaceutical practices. The simulation program also contributes to developing the student’s self-skills by evaluating self-performance and providing feedback for improvement.
