Under the Patronage of His Excellency Mazen Al-Faraiah, Amman Arab University Organizes a Prestigious International Conference -“Human Trafficking via the Internet”

Amman - Amman Arab University will hold, during the period from 17-18 October 2023, the peer-reviewed international conference entitled: Human Trafficking via the Internet at Amman Arab University under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Mazen Al-Faraya, Minister of the Interior, which aims to introduce the concept of human trafficking via the Internet, its methods, historical development, causes and motives for crime, and documentation of the legal framework, international treaties and protocols related to human trafficking via the Internet, strengthening cooperation with the information and communications technology sector in order to improve ways to uncover and disrupt human trafficking that is facilitated by the Internet, enhance the sharing of intelligence information and response measures through cybersecurity on persons and criminal methods used in human trafficking, and work to disseminate the research culture in addressing the issues concerned with human trafficking, represented by In psychological, social, economic and political motives, and promoting preventive and therapeutic methods and international and local efforts in combating human trafficking via the Internet, and benefit from global experiences in combating human trafficking by identifying the role of educational institutions, international and local bodies, and associations in raising awareness of human trafficking crimes via the Internet, and presenting projects, experiences, and success stories that have contributed to combating human trafficking via the Internet.

In this regard, Professor. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University and Chairman of the Conference, said that the title of the conference reflects the vision of Amman Arab University and its sustainable mission in serving local, regional and global humanitarian issues in a way that serves human dignity and preserves it, in light of the digital transformation and an accelerating technological revolution and with the expansion of use the Internet, and the necessity of its availability in all human sectors, has been used as a global electronic means in the phenomenon of human trafficking.

The digital world has witnessed increasing cases of human trafficking crimes committed by persons and entities amounting to organized crime, and the expansion of the size of this type of crime has become the focus of attention of many countries and local and international organizations, which requires intensified international efforts to combat this type of crime, which It affects human dignity and turns the human being into a commodity that a group of merchants trade among themselves.

The conference addresses many topics, including: the concept of human trafficking via the Internet and its historical development, the topic of the electronic crime of human trafficking in local and international laws and treaties, the topic of information technology, Internet networks and social media, and their role in the crime of human trafficking via the Internet, the topic of Islamic law and human trafficking, and the topic of Psychological, social, economic and political motivations for committing human trafficking crimes via the Internet. Focusing on the role of educational institutions (universities/colleges/schools/institutes), international and local bodies, and associations in raising awareness of human trafficking crimes, and focusing on the role of media and social responsibility in combating human trafficking,
