Amman Arab University Participates in the Workshop “Scientific Research and Technology Transfer: Cross-Border Success Stories”

Workshop Activities, organized and supported by the Scientific Research and Innovation Fund, in cooperation with the Platform for Integrating Academia with Industry, and at the invitation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, were held entitled “Scientific Research and Technology Transfer: Cross-Border Success Stories” with the aim of identifying the importance of networking and linking scientific research and industry, and focusing the importance of knowing and evaluating the readiness of patents and transferring them to markets as a final product

Representatives of all Jordanian and private universities participated in the workshop, and under the guidance of the President of Amman Arab University, Professor. Mohammad Al-Widyan, the University’s participation included a team of researchers headed by Professor. Ismail Yamin/ Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Scientific Research and Alumni Studies, and Dr. Samer Al-Ayasrah/ Director of the Creativity Center. Innovation and entrepreneurship, Dr. Ayman Alagha/faculty member at the College of Engineering, and Dr. Sarah Nasser al-Din/faculty member at the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University.

The workshop included a presentation of a group of success stories presented by the participants, reviewing the reasons and factors that led to the success of their stories.

The lecturers also stressed the importance of networking between academics and the industrial sector and that research projects concerned with the problems of the local community and the environment because of their effective role in well-being and health for the community. At the end of the workshop, discussion was opened about the networking mechanism and simplifying procedures in the event of transforming pilot projects into products serving the local community.
