“Amman Arab University” Participates in a Training Workshop Organized by Han Studio
Amman Arab University, represented by Professor. Hanan Ahmed, Head of the Architecture Department at the College of Engineering, participated in a training workshop organized by Han Studio, a start-up company specialized in researching and developing non-traditional projects that rely on digital architecture and architecture programming. (14) male and female students from the department participated in the workshop. The workshop reviewed in an advanced manner the topic of “Folding Architecture” and touched on many concepts and uses of this topic in architecture, where the importance of the topic and its capabilities lie in its use for large and small projects and from different folding and forming materials.
The workshop was presented by Engineer Abdul Hamid Kahlous, founder of the company, who reviewed the most important projects implemented. On the other hand, engineer Ali Yaqoub presented a methodology for using the grasshopper program in a theoretical and practical way and its importance in making and manufacturing architectural models. During the workshop, an exercise was applied to fold a model and convert it from two dimensions to three dimensions shared by all the students, in the presence of engineer Ola Habash and engineer Hanan Bani Nasr, as participants and followers of the workshop.
