Graduating the Third Group of the Diploma in Spiritual Guidance at Amman Arab University

Amman - Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, in the presence of Dr. Wafaa Al-Eid, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Director of the Counseling and Training Center at Amman Arab University, Dr. May Al-Shaikhli, and Director General of the Arab Academy for Palliative Care, Mr. Suleiman Ahmed, sponsored the graduation ceremony of the third group of spiritual guidance diplomas which is (34) Students from different countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Palestine.
In this regard, Prof. Al-Widyan said in his speech that spiritual guidance derives its importance from psychological guidance and religious guidance in order to perform a number of functions that are indispensable for both the individual and the group, and being an important factor in a person’s psychological life, and an essential element in the growth of his personality and the greatest pillars of behavior, as it provides an emotional basis. It included security, psychological reassurance, emotional balance, optimism and love for life, and not looking at it pessimistically.

In her turn, Ms. Roaa Al-Hassan, Director of Programs and Diplomas at the Academy, spoke about the Academy's achievements during the previous years through the beginnings of the diploma, the challenges and achievements of the students, and the extent of the program's impact on patients and job performance, in addition to the importance of strategic cooperation between the Arab Academy for Palliative Care and Amman Arab University regarding the Academy's programs, including the Counseling Diploma. Spiritual, palliative care diploma, health care (nursing) diploma, non-profit organization management diploma, volunteer work and other important programs in the health sector and civil society, as the academy and university seek to spread this specialization widely in the Arab world.
The Director of the Spiritual Guidance Program, Dr. Fawzi Al-Awda, expressed his pride in the graduate students and stated that palliative care has a positive role in relieving the patient and his family, and it stems from Islamic thought based on sincerity in goals, perfection in deeds, and follow-up in tasks in order to seek promises and escape from worldly and hereafter threats. And he talked about some examples that happened with many patients.

In conclusion, Prof. Al-Widyan, Dr. Al-Awda and Mr. Suleiman Ahmed honored the lecturers and handed diploma certificates to the graduate students.
