Al-Owaidat from "Amman Arab  University" Participates in a Peace Meeting with the League of Arab States

 His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Oweidat from the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University participated in a dialogue meeting under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, where the (Arab Peace Group) was announced as a civil society organization aimed at mediating to stop the Arab conflict between all conflicting parties  Within the Arab countries, this group aimed to spread a culture of peace among the sons of the Arab nation, stop hostilities, deepen dialogue, and recognize the other, instead of fanaticism, sectarianism and regionalism.

 During the meeting, the Jordanian capital, Amman, was declared the permanent headquarters of the Arab Peace Group, and the group’s internal system and statutes were announced, and a call was issued (Cairo for the Peoples of the Arab Nation), and the group’s supreme executive board was elected, which consisted of eleven members, and the membership of the committee was won from Jordan.  His Excellency Eng. Samir Habashneh, the former Minister of Interior, and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Oweidat, the former Minister of Culture and current faculty member at Amman Arab University. Eng. Habashneh was also elected Secretary-General of the group, and the former President of the Republic of Yemen, Ali Nasser, was elected as the head of this group.

 It is worth noting that among the founding members of this group from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are Dr. Abd al-Salam al-Majali, Dr. Adnan Badran and Eng. Marwan al-Fauri, Secretary-General of the International Islamic Moderation Party, in addition to the two members Habashneh and Oweidat.
