The Conclusion of the Activities of the conference “Muslim Women in a Changing World” at Amman Arab University

The work of the Sixth International Scientific Conference entitled “Muslim Women in a Changing World”, which was organized by Amman Arab University and the Association of Jordan Scholars, was concluded on the Centennial stage in Amman Arab University, under the generous patronage of Prof.  Abdel Nasser Abu Al-Basal and Dr. Hayel Al-Daoud.

Scholars from Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Qatar, Sudan, Palestine, Comoros, Sultanate of,Oman and Turkey participated in the conference, which was held with the support of the Jordan Islamic Bank and Jordan.

The former Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sartawi, said during his sponsorship of the conference’s launch ceremony: The goodness of the family is the way to fear God in women by raising them and establishing true justice with them, pointing out that women are no longer half of society only in number, but today they are more present in  Jobs, universities and the most influential.

For his part, the Assistant President of Amman Arab University for Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Hussam Al-Hamad, the representative of the President of the University, Prof. Mohammad Al-Widyan, said the university’s interest in the issue of women in its various dimensions, as the university held many seminars, and had many societal contributions, and added to its academic programs some courses related to  In the family, in which women constitute an original cornerstone for achieving the aspirations of our nation.

In turn, the Executive Director of the Association, Dr. Maher Aref Qabha, indicated that the conference discussed the material and moral rights granted by Islam to women, and its keenness to protect and preserve them, indicating that 80 researchers from Arab and Islamic countries participated in the conference.

For her part, the conference president, Dr. Fayza Al-Sukar, said that the conference, which lasted on Saturday and Sunday, corresponding from 23-24/7/2022, shed light on the importance of the role of women in life, as Islam came and equated her with her male brother in humanity and made her independent financial security.  He singled out the role that befits her nature and her human and intellectual role.

The conference discussed several axes that dealt with: women and Islamic legislation, their participation in public life, the impact of international changes on their reality and the challenges facing women, foreseeing the future, and practical experiences of Jordanian women’s contributions to civil society institutions. Several recommendations were made that would be the nucleus of a renaissance project.

A holistic vision that achieves the important role of women at the level of family, education, politics and even legal legislation in a way that is consistent with our Sharia, our values and the nobility of our Arab nation.
