Al-Balqa Governor sponsors Independence Day }elebration and Communities Day at Amman Arab University

 Amman - The Governor of Al-Balqa, Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud, in the presence of the President of Amman Arab University, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, a number of ambassadors and cultural attachés of brotherly countries, a large number of officials of Al-Balqa governorate, and a large gathering of university employees and students sponsored the University’s celebration of Independence Day and Communities Day.


 Dr. Abu Qaoud said that independence is the pride and honor of all Jordanians, and he sent a telegram of loyalty, pride and congratulations to His Majesty, the Hashemite family and the Jordanian people on our seventy-sixth independence and prayed to God that many years pass us by the presence of future generations and celebrate happy occasions, adding that the Jordanian state is fine and the situation of the Jordanian is good, regardless of the security, political and economic situation, and thanks to God, we, as Jordanians, are fine.


 He added that the Palestinian issue for Jordanians is like blinking and an eye. It is not possible one day that the Palestinian issue will not be an integral part of the Jordanian entity. He said, “Our Majesty, and all Jordanians, will not rest without the liberation of Palestine, God willing, in the coming years, and that independence should remind us of our colleagues in the army.”  


 In his speech, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of the University, said that we celebrate the Independence Day, the twenty-fifth of May, on this day in the year one thousand nine hundred and forty-six (1946) the Fifth Jordanian Legislative Council decided to declare the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan a fully independent state with allegiance to the King to His Majesty  His Majesty the late founding King Abdullah I Ibn Al-Hussein, may God rest his soul, and since then, the honorable Hashemites have carried the banner of rule, generation after generation, and older people who led its path wisely and powerfully.  


 At the end of the ceremony, the president of the university, Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, honored the sponsor of the ceremony, Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud, with the University shield in appreciation for his sponsorship of this celebration.
