Amman - Acting Head of the Law Department Dr. Muhammad bin Tarif affirmed in a symposium on constitutional amendments, election laws and parties organized by Yarmouk Al-Baqa’a Club in Prince Zaid bin Shaker Hall and in the presence of a large number of sheikhs and dignitaries of the Ain Al-Basha District and the Baqa’a camp that Jordan is taking serious and gradual steps towards rooting of Political life in a programmatic exercise simulates the aspirations and hopes of citizens.
He started the conversation by saying that the constitution is the supreme social law in the state and the complete legislative system does not violate the constitution. It is a social contract between the ruler and the ruled, and everyone has rights and duties. The constitution is a law that amends, including change, addition and deletion. The Jordanian constitution is considered one of the leading constitutions in the Arab world, and we are still working with a constitution  1952 with the introduction of some amendments in 2022, where the modern constitution was concerned with women and youth, and the opinion poll showed that one-fifth of Jordanians were familiar with the constitution, one-fifth of Jordanians knew about the constitution and the recommendations of the Royal Committee, while one-third of Jordanians expressed their satisfaction with the constitutional amendments, as adding the word “Jordanians” was one of the most prominent words of the amendment.

Bin Tarif said that the outputs of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System and the accompanying constitutional amendments and the introduction of new election laws and parties, stressing that they are in line with the aspirations of the youth. He said that the opportunities for empowering women and youth doubled with the system’s requirements, as every Jordanian who reached 18 solar years was granted 90 days ahead of the scheduled date.
At the end of the lecture, a dialogue and discussion took place in which the lecturer answered the participants' queries and questions.
