"Towards Better Health" –College of Pharmacy in Amman Arab University Held an Awareness Day at the University of Jordan Hospital

Coping with the pioneering role of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University in raising awareness and educating community members, the Community Service Club at the College of Pharmacy held an awareness day at the University of Jordan Hospital entitled “Towards Better Health” under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor. Rana Abu Huwaij, and under the supervision of pharmacist Aya Al-Hourani, in cooperation with the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Jordan Hospital.

The awareness day included a group of activities directed at raising awareness about rheumatism, osteoporosis, and gout. Students from the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University also distributed awareness brochures that included the symptoms of these diseases and the necessary tests to detect them, in addition to the medications used for treatment, their timing, the best ways to use them, advice and instructions, and medical and non-pharmacological guidelines that must be adhered to in order to achieve the best benefit from the medicine.

In this regard, Prof. Abu Huwaij appreciated the positive interaction of the students and their tangible efforts in effective communication with patients and their prominent role in enhancing team spirit and effective participation in volunteer work. She also expressed her thanks and appreciation for the joint cooperative efforts with the hospital’s pharmacy department, represented by Dr. Khawla. Abu Hammour and the good coordination and cooperation between the college and the hospital, which had a significant impact on the success of the event, which was embodied in the participation of more than 40 patients in the initiative.
