Amman Arab University Hosts IEEE Jordan Leadership Summit 2025 for Jordanian Universities

Amman Arab University hosted the Student Activities Committee (SAC) summit of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), with the participation of elite students and members of IEEE student branches from various Jordanian universities. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Husam Al Hamad, Assistant President of Amman Arab University for Planning and Quality Assurance, and Dr. Musa Al-Akhras, Head of IEEE Jordan Section, alongside several supervisors of student branches in Jordanian universities. The summit aimed to enhance collaboration and exchange expertise among students interested in engineering and technology, contributing to the development of their skills in these vital sectors .

Dr. Al-Hamad emphasized the importance of hosting the IEEE SAC summit, affirming that the event reflects the university’s deep belief in IEEE’s vision of promoting creativity, innovation, and technological excellence to serve humanity and achieve sustainable development. He added that Amman Arab University is committed to investing in student potential, supporting their initiatives, and fostering leadership, teamwork, and volunteerism, as students are key partners in progress and drivers of change across various fields .

Dr. Al-Akhras praised the efforts of the IEEE team at Amman Arab University, commending the summit’s outstanding organization and professional preparation, which reflect the efficiency and excellence of the students and the branch’s administrators. He noted that this achievement stems from persistent hard work, as the university received special recognition from IEEE Jordan during its annual meeting at the Landmark Hotel, attended by representatives from Jordanian universities and experts in engineering and technology .

Dr. Al-Akhras highlighted the growth of IEEE student branches in Jordanian universities, marking a qualitative leap in supporting academic environments and fostering innovation among students. These branches play a pivotal role in refining students’ technical and leadership skills, enabling them to keep pace with advancements in engineering and technology. This expansion underscores universities’ awareness of the importance of integrating students into practical experiences and connecting them with the global engineering community, preparing them for the labor market and enhancing their competitiveness locally and internationally .

Dr. Lial Al-Zabin, Academic Supervisor of the IEEE branch at Amman Arab University, played a key role in the summit’s success through her continuous support and effective academic guidance, ensuring efficient and distinguished event organization. She fostered a constructive dialogue environment among participants, positively impacting the discussions and outcomes, while emphasizing the importance of academic supervision in empowering students and enhancing their leadership and organizational capabilities .

The summit featured dialogue sessions and workshops addressing contemporary issues in technology and engineering, alongside presentations of inspiring student experiences and IEEE branch achievements across the Kingdom.
