Speaker of Jordanian House of Representatives Inaugurates Conference on Legal Accountability for AI in Healthcare at Amman Arab University (AAU)
Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Mazen Al-Qadi, Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Amman Arab University hosted the conference titled "Legal Accountability for Using Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: Challenges and Regulatory Prospects." The event brought together university officials, the President of the Jordan Medical Association, legal experts, academics, and researchers from various countries.
In his opening remarks, HE Mr. Al-Qadi emphasized the national priority of regulating artificial intelligence, highlighting royal directives to establish a "National Council for Future Technology." He stressed the urgent need for legislation that ensures AI is used responsibly to serve the public interest and protect citizens' rights. University President, Prof. Mohammed Al-Widyan, noted the conference's focus on the critical healthcare sector, underscoring the necessity of updating regulations and fostering collaboration between legislative, medical, and academic institutions to ensure the safe and ethical implementation of AI technologies.
