Amman Arab University Enhances Digital Education through "Utilizing Games in Education" Workshop in Cooperation with the Jordan Gaming Lab

Amman Arab University (AAU) Enhances Digital Education through "Utilizing Games in Education" Workshop in Cooperation with the Jordan Gaming Lab

Within the framework of the joint cooperation between Amman Arab University and the Jordan Gaming Lab, coordinated by the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship and in cooperation with the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University, the Jordan Gaming Lab held a specialized training workshop at its headquarters in the King Hussein Business Park. The workshop was for a number of faculty members from the College of Information Technology and the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the University in the field of "Game Development ToT, using Minecraft Education." This falls within the University's efforts to enhance digital teaching skills and innovation among its faculty members.

The workshop aimed to introduce faculty members to the capabilities of the Minecraft Education platform and its role in developing students' creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through an interactive learning environment based on play and experiential learning. The workshop also included interactive practical applications that allowed participants to experience designing educational lessons using the game and linking them to academic curricula.

In this regard, Engineer Hussein Bino, the General Supervisor of the Jordan Gaming Lab initiative, emphasized during the workshop the importance of integrating educational games into the university education system as an effective tool for motivating students to learn and developing 21st-century skills.

For its part, the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at Amman Arab University appreciated this constructive cooperation with the Jordan Gaming Lab, noting that this workshop comes within the framework of the signed cooperation agreement between the two parties, which aims to exchange expertise, implement training programs, and launch joint initiatives in the fields of educational technology, game design, and innovation in education.

Dr. Rami Sahwil, Dean of the College of Information Technology, affirmed the importance of this training program for faculty members, which aims to develop their skills in employing educational games in the teaching process to enhance interactive learning and innovation in education. It is noteworthy that through such partnerships, Amman Arab University seeks to keep pace with modern developments in the field of digital education and equip its academic staff with modern tools and technologies that contribute to developing a stimulating educational environment aligned with future requirements.
