Amman Arab University’s (AAU) Pharmacy Faculty Organizes Interactive Workshop on Professional Frameworks and Labor Market Requirements

As part of Amman Arab University's commitment to enhancing the practical and cognitive skills of its students and boosting their professional competence to meet labor market demands, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a specialized interactive workshop for students across all academic levels. Titled "Business Aspect in Pharmacy," the workshop aligned with the faculty's vision to empower students and enhance their career readiness. It was presented by Dr. Anas Al-Shweiki, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, in the presence of a number of students.

The workshop was held in response to rapidly evolving labor market requirements. It covered key career paths available to pharmacy graduates in both the public and private sectors, highlighting promising opportunities in pharmaceutical industries, pharmacovigilance, pharmaceutical marketing, and clinical practice. It also focused on core skills highly valued by employers, most notably effective communication, analytical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making in diverse work environments—all of which help prepare students to compete professionally and efficiently.

The session saw significant student engagement, providing a platform to exchange real-world experiences regarding entering the workforce. This fostered collaborative learning and offered a chance to discuss practical challenges and solutions, alongside reviewing steps to build a successful career. Furthermore, the meeting addressed key labor laws and regulations, primarily the Labor Law, and introduced the systems of the Social Security Corporation. It clarified the rights and duties of both employees and employers within the specific context of the pharmaceutical sector to enhance students' legal and professional awareness.

The workshop concluded with motivational messages aimed at boosting the morale of students nearing graduation. By preparing them for the labor market, the initiative supports the high-quality output of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, strengthening the competitiveness of its graduates and its academic reputation at both local and regional levels.
