The Department of Programming and Development Department is responsible for designing, developing, and operating software systems that contribute to the computerization of technical, administrative, and academic processes across the various departments and units of the University. The department works to enhance and improve administrative and academic procedures by building an integrated set of electronic systems that facilitate the delivery of services to administrative staff, academic staff, and students with high accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
The department develops the necessary software applications to support the work of the University’s administrative departments and units, such as the Admissions and Registration Department, the Financial Department, Human Resources, and other systems that support academic and administrative operations. The department also places special emphasis on developing systems that directly serve students, contributing to improving their university experience and facilitating access to various electronic services.
In addition, the department provides guidance and technical support to system users, manages databases, and ensures their continuous operation, while maintaining data security and confidentiality in accordance with the University’s approved policies.
Tasks:
- Developing the systems and software required to support administrative, academic, and student-related operations at the University, monitoring them, and supervising their associated databases.
- Analyzing systems, designing software solutions, and establishing general policies for system development in coordination with the University’s policies and strategic plans.
- Supervising databases, ensuring their integrity and continuous operation, and developing related reports and software applications.
- Providing technical and operational support for all internally developed systems, and addressing feedback and operational issues.
- Ensuring the security, confidentiality, and availability of the University’s data, and managing system user access privileges in accordance with approved frameworks.
- Studying modern systems and proposing technical solutions that contribute to automating manual processes and saving time and effort.
- Developing and enhancing electronic student registration systems to support admission and registration procedures with high efficiency and reliability.
- Continuously developing and improving the University’s electronic portals in line with technological advancements and user needs.
