The Computer Laboratories Management Division is one of the specialized technical divisions at the University. It is responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of educational computer laboratories and for ensuring their technical and operational readiness in support of the teaching and learning process, practical training, and scientific research. The Division aims to provide a secure and modern educational technological environment that enables students and faculty members to use approved technologies and software, in accordance with the University’s policies and the requirements of academic accreditation and quality assurance.
Tasks:
- Ensuring the technical and operational readiness of computer laboratories before and during academic semesters.
- Implementing information security policies within computer laboratories, including data protection and prevention of breaches or misuse.
- Monitoring the use of computer laboratories and ensuring compliance with the University’s approved rules and regulations.
- Providing direct technical support during practical lectures and computerized examinations.
- Coordinating with the Systems and Networks Management Division to ensure integration between laboratory operations and the University’s technical infrastructure.
- Carrying out periodic and preventive maintenance for computer equipment and peripherals in laboratories, and following up on the resolution of technical malfunctions.
- Managing the educational systems and software used in laboratories, and ensuring their efficiency and continuity of operation.
- Enforcing information security policies within laboratories, including the protection of systems and data and prevention of unauthorized access.
- Participating in University events when laboratory supervision is required.
- Providing technical support to faculty members and students during practical and applied activities conducted in computer laboratories.
- Supervising proficiency examinations conducted for students each semester and installing the required examination software on computer devices.
- Coordinating with relevant administrative units and vendors to develop computer laboratories and upgrade their equipment in accordance with approved plans.
- Participating in the preparation of emergency and business continuity plans in cases of system failures or technical crises.
