Under the patronage of the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Amman Arab University (AAU) organized an international conference entitled "The Impact of Wars and Conflicts on Sustainable Development
"The conference was inaugurated by His Excellency Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, who emphasized the profound and long-lasting damage wars inflict on economic, social, and human development trajectories. He stressed the crucial role of Arab universities in producing knowledge and evidence-based policies to help societies transition from conflict to sustainable development and stability.
The conference, which featured keynote speakers and researchers from various Arab and international countries, highlighted that wars and conflicts critically undermine education, health, the economy, the environment, and social cohesion. Discussions yielded key recommendations, including strengthening the role of Arab universities in researching post-conflict recovery, building effective regional and international partnerships, enhancing institutional capacities for crisis management, and empowering youth and women in peacebuilding and sustainable development decision-making processes.
