Faculty of Engineering at Amman Arab University Hosts Graduate Engineer Al-Duwaik for Lecture on "Fundamentals of Architectural Design"
In line with Amman Arab University's commitment to fostering connections between students and graduates while facilitating the exchange of practical expertise—under the guidance of University President Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan and with the support of Dr. Anwar Al-Asaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering—the Department of Architectural Engineering hosted graduate engineer Samera Al-Duwaik. She delivered a specialized lecture titled "Fundamentals of Architectural Design," attended by Engineer Maryam Al-Mashayekh, Engineer Ola Habash, and a group of second-year architectural engineering students.
Engineer Al-Duwaik presented a comprehensive overview of the core principles forming the foundation of architectural design, detailing the steps of architectural analysis, mechanisms for developing design thinking, and the importance of understanding the relationship between form and function in creating successful architectural environments. She also shared her post-graduation professional experiences, highlighting the challenges architects face in the job market and outlining strategies to address them.
The lecture featured active engagement from students, who raised numerous questions regarding design concepts and architectural presentation skills. Engineer Al-Duwaik addressed their inquiries and provided valuable advice to enhance their academic and professional readiness.
This initiative is part of a series of meetings organized by the Department of Architectural Engineering at Amman Arab University with its graduates, aimed at bridging academic knowledge with practical applications and broadening students' perspectives across various architectural fields.
