Dr. Reham Al-Asmar from Amman Arab University (AAU) Participates in the IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit 2025 – Jordan
In line with Amman Arab University’s commitment to empowering women academics in engineering fields and strengthening their influential presence on regional and international leadership platforms—consistent with the University’s vision of advancing engineering knowledge, fostering innovation, and developing leadership capacities among its members—and under the guidance of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Wedian, with the follow-up of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Amman Arab University participated in the opening activities of the IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit 2025 – Jordan, which was held over two days at the Bristol Hotel in Amman.
The University was represented at the conference, within the framework of the Women in Engineering (WIE) community affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – Jordan Section, by Dr. Reham Al-Asmar, a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering. The summit brought together a distinguished group of prominent speakers, experts, and specialists from Jordan and abroad, who shared inspiring insights and experiences aimed at building a new generation of female leaders capable of creating a qualitative and sustainable impact in the engineering sector.
In this context, Dr. Al-Asmar noted that the conference was distinguished by the selection of Jordan as the only Arab country to host this international event, following a highly competitive global selection process. This achievement reflects Jordan’s leading role in supporting women and enhancing their participation in technical and engineering sectors. She added that the conference program addressed several key themes, most notably the role of women engineers in innovation, creativity, and development; their presence in leadership and decision-making positions; as well as the challenges they face throughout their professional careers and ways to enhance their effectiveness.
Amman Arab University affirms that its participation in this international event through Dr. Reham Al-Asmar represents an extension of its firm commitment to supporting and empowering women in the fields of engineering, scientific research, and leadership, and its continuous pursuit of an active and impactful presence in influential international forums
