College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University (AAU) Launches Awareness and Research Initiatives as Part of "Change Day 2025" Activities
In line with Amman Arab University's commitment to social responsibility and its support for national initiatives aimed at improving the quality of healthcare, the College of Pharmacy at the University organized an event for "Change Day 2025," which falls on September 17 each year. This day is organized annually by the Health Care Accreditation Council in Jordan, coinciding with World Patient Safety Day.
In this regard, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, emphasized the importance of thinking of pledges that make a real difference in the health of the community's children. She urged attendees to each be a part of the change for a safer childhood and encouraged the design of awareness programs and activities that ensure the safe use of medications during childhood, as well as the development of research initiatives focusing on child health and safety. This is in addition to promoting responsible pharmaceutical practices and refining students' awareness to become ambassadors for community health and well-being. Dr. Abu Huwaij initiated the pledging by writing her commitment to preparing a generation of pharmacists capable of carrying a noble message that serves children's health by ensuring the safety of the medications they take. Furthermore, approximately (40) participants from the teaching and administrative staff launched their pledges, which varied between raising awareness about proper nutrition, promoting preventive concepts, and supporting mothers in early care.
This participation aligns with the goals of the Change Day initiative, which seeks to improve the quality of health services through innovative initiatives that contribute to enhancing patient safety, especially for children, through tangible pledges that translate the principles of safety and patient rights in the healthcare environment. This participation is an effective step towards building a healthy and safe society, particularly for children, who are the building blocks of Jordan's future.
