
Amman Arab University (AAU) Organizes Training Course on "Communication Disorders: Language and Speech"
Under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and with the support of Dr. Wafa Eid Dean of the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences, the college—in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs/Career Guidance and Alumni Follow-up Office—organized a training course titled "Communication Disorders: Language and Speech." The course was delivered by Dr. Nabil Homedan, Head of the Special Education Department, with the participation of student Majd Abdel Fatah.
The session witnessed a notable attendance from faculty members and university students. It aimed to familiarize participants with the concept of language and speech disorders, understand the natural stages of language development in children, and identify the causes and factors influencing these disorders, as well as assessment and diagnostic methods. The workshop also addressed how to develop a preliminary treatment plan based on assessment results, in addition to raising awareness, promoting respect and positive communication with individuals with disorders, and instilling the values of teamwork within a multidisciplinary therapeutic team.
The course was marked by clear engagement from attendees, who expressed their appreciation for the rich scientific and practical content and its role in enhancing their professional readiness. This event is part of a series of activities organized by Amman Arab University to equip students with the necessary skills for excellence in their professional lives, in line with its ongoing vision to connect academic education with labor market requirements.
