
Amman Arab University (AAU) Launches Academic Development Plan for the First Semester of 2025/2026
As part of Amman Arab University's pursuit to develop educational competencies and modernize teaching methods in line with recent developments in higher education, Professor Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance, representing Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, the University President, inaugurated the training workshops for faculty members under the Academic Development Plan program for the 2025/2026 academic year. The program is implemented by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center / Academic Development Department.
Approximately (30) training workshops were announced at the beginning of the current semester, targeting deans, their assistants, heads of academic departments, faculty members, as well as new academic staff. These workshops will focus on pivotal topics in higher education, most notably academic accreditation and global rankings, e-learning issues and the utilization of digital education tools, alongside discussions on the university's strategic and operational plans, topics related to effective academic advising, and enhancing scientific research to keep pace with the latest global developments.
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Hamad welcomed all faculty members, affirming that Amman Arab University is steadily advancing towards a more distinguished future through comprehensive academic development plans that cater to all aspects and personnel without exception. He clarified that the goal of these training workshops is not limited to improving performance alone but extends to creating a tangible impact on the student experience, which will positively reflect on the university's academic reputation and position it as a leading and prestigious destination in the job market. Al-Hamad added that obtaining international accreditations is no longer an option but a necessity dictated by the current phase, reaffirming the University's commitment to achieving them through qualitative training programs. He also indicated that this year's training workshops were meticulously designed to be a fundamental lever propelling the University towards advanced positions in global rankings, noting that the University is currently working diligently to elevate the rankings of its academic programs to remain at the forefront of prestigious universities both regionally and internationally.
These workshops aim to enhance teaching expertise, improve the efficiency of academic staff, and entrench a culture of quality in various educational and administrative practices within the University. Additionally, they seek to keep pace with global advancements in teaching methods and academic assessment, stimulate creativity and innovation in the educational process to the benefit of students, and enhance institutional integration between colleges and departments in the realm of quality assurance and academic excellence.
