Amman Arab University (AAU) Holds Scientific Symposium titled "Jordanian National Security: Challenges and Strategies in a Turbulent Region"
Under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, the College of Arts and Sciences, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Jordanian Political Science Association, organized a scientific symposium titled "Jordanian National Security: Challenges and Strategies in a Turbulent Region." The event was held at the university campus and presented by Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Shneikat, President of the Jordanian Political Science Association.
Dr. Anas Al-Tarawneh, a faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University who moderated the symposium, emphasized the importance of this meeting in highlighting one of the most vital topics at present, such as Jordanian national security amidst the rapid transformations and crises in the region. He also stressed the significance of economic and societal security in supporting national security, the role of media and intellectual security in countering rumors and hate speech, and the vital role played by universities and youth in entrenching the values of citizenship and enhancing national belonging.
For his part, Dr. Al-Shneikat provided a comprehensive analysis of the concept of Jordanian national security during the dialogue session, addressing the most prominent political and regional challenges facing Jordan, and the role of the Hashemite leadership and foreign policy in enhancing its stability and regional standing. Al-Shneikat pointed out that Jordanian national security is not limited to the military dimension alone but encompasses an integrated system of political, economic, social, and intellectual dimensions. He affirmed that the cohesion of the home front and public awareness form the foundation for preserving the stability of the Jordanian state.
This symposium falls within Amman Arab University's commitment to serving national issues and enhancing political awareness among its students by organizing intellectual meetings that enrich dialogue and deepen the understanding of contemporary issues.
