Under the Patronage of Al Ain Asia Yaghi, Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University Organizes a Symposium on Children's Rights

Under the patronage of the member of the Jordanian Senate, His Excellency Al-Ain Asia Yaghi, in the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Mohamed Al-Widyan, the Assistant President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ismail Yamin, the Dean of the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences, Dr. Wafa Al-Eid, the deans of the colleges, the members of the academic and administrative staff and a group of students, with the participation of Dr. Mohammed Mekdadi, Secretary-General of the National Council for Family Affairs, the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University organized a seminar entitled "Child Rights" on the occasion of the Arab Human Rights Day, which carried the slogan "Protecting the family and strengthening its bonds" and with the participation of the National Council for Family Affairs.

The symposium included several themes, including the "The Rights of Persons with Disabilities", which Ain Asia Yaghi talked about, in which it dealt with the importance of meeting those rights and working to achieve them as much as possible, and Jordan's prominent role in caring for the rights of persons with disabilities.

As for the second theme, which included the rights of the child, which was talked about by the Secretary-General of the National Council for Family Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Mokdadi, in which he dealt with the rights of the child in general and the international conventions related to this, and referred to the great role played by Jordan in achieving the maximum possible of these rights.

On the other hand, the faculty member in the Department of Psychological and Educational Counseling at the College, Prof. Suhaila Banat, who managed the symposium, addressed the role of various institutions and the importance of intensifying efforts to obtain their full and undiminished rights for our children and children in the Arab world.

The symposium included the presentation of videos as a model on child rights, one prepared by students of the Department of Special Education in the college, the other prepared by the child Tamara Massoud, and a speech on children's rights delivered by the student Afnan Yaddak, representing the students of the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the Amman Arab University, where the implementation of such seminars comes in implementation of the policy of the Amman Arab University in networking with all community institutions.

At the end of the seminar, there was a dialogue and discussion on the topic of the symposium, and the lecturers answered the questions of the various attendees.
