Pharmacy Students of “Amman Arab University” (AAU) Present Innovative Projects at the IEEE/EMBS Scientific Day

In line with the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment at Amman Arab University to supporting and empowering its students academically and professionally, and to enhancing their active participation in scientific and research events across Jordanian universities, the Faculty of Pharmacy, represented by the IEEE EMBS Student Branch, participated in the celebratory EMBS Scientific Day, organized by the Jordan University of Science and Technology. The event brought together a distinguished group of academics, students, and specialists from various universities, aiming to exchange expertise and foster innovation in the medical and health fields.

The event featured a rich scientific program that included a series of specialized sessions and lectures, most notably a lecture on the linear accelerator, a surgical operating room experience, as well as a panel discussion titled “The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering.” In addition, an informative session addressed the design of smart hospitals and explored future trends in modern medical technologies. The event was attended by several prominent IEEE leaders at the national level, including Dr. Mousa Al-Akhras, Chair of IEEE Jordan Section; Dr. Hisham Al-Muwaqqat, Chair of the EMBS Chapter in Jordan; and Eng. Fares Muqbil, EMBS Student Representative. Also in attendance was Dr. Mohammad Al-Bannat, IEEE Branch Advisor at Jordan University of Science and Technology. From Amman Arab University, participants included Dr. Mai Hawamdeh, Supervisor of the EMBS Branch at the University, and Dr. Esraa Malkaawi, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, in addition to members of the EMBS team at Amman Arab University who contributed to supporting the event and strengthening student engagement.

Students from the Faculty of Pharmacy presented innovative and pioneering projects that reflected academic excellence and research creativity. The Backhackers Team, consisting of students Rahaf Abu Bakr and Haneen Amairah, presented the project “Spino Track Patch.” Meanwhile, The Power of Three Team, comprising students Sondos Ibrahim, Sama Abdul Qader, Huda Al-Omari, and Shahd Abdullah, presented the project “Pulse Medical.” These projects received notable attention and positive interaction from attendees.

The IEEE–EMBS Student Branch at Amman Arab University demonstrated strong engagement through the participation of 45 students and 13 organizers, reflecting the vitality of student activities within the university and the EMBS Branch’s commitment to developing students’ skills and promoting a culture of scientific innovation in the field of biomedical engineering across the Kingdom.

At the conclusion of the event, the IEEE–EMBS Branch at Amman Arab University was honored in recognition of its continuous efforts and active participation in specialized student activities. In this context, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University expressed its pride in the participating students and members, affirming its ongoing support for all initiatives that contribute to enhancing knowledge and developing students’ professional and research skills, in alignment with the University’s vision and mission.
