
Architecture Department at Amman Arab University Organizes Scientific Visit to a Villa in Al weibdeh to Study Historical Restoration and Architectural Preservation
In line with its efforts to enhance students' practical and applied understanding, and under the directives of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and the follow-up of Dr. Anwar Al-Asaaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Department of Architecture organized a scientific visit to the villa of Mr. Mohammed Ratib Amro, General Manager of Mukaab Engineering Company, in the historic alweibdeh district.
The visit was supervised by Dr. Ma’n Abu Sheikha, instructor of the Architectural Preservation course, and included discussions on ways to collaborate in preserving the architectural heritage of the area. This visit is part of a series of extracurricular activities organized by the Faculty to strengthen engagement with the local community. It aims to provide students with scientific and practical expertise in architecture and heritage conservation, contributing to the enhancement of heritage and architectural projects at the university.
In this regard, Dr. Al-Asaaf affirmed the full support of the Faculty of Engineering at Amman Arab University for such initiatives, which reinforce the university’s pioneering role in serving the community and preserving Jordan’s cultural and architectural heritage.
At the end of the visit, the students expressed their appreciation for this valuable experience, which provided them with hands-on knowledge and practical insights. They commended the Faculty’s efforts in organizing such events that enhance their academic and professional skills and expressed their eagerness for more scientific visits in the future to further develop their expertise and excel in the field of architectural engineering.
