
Amman Arab University Hosts Lecture on “Horse Riding Between Authentic Heritage and Modern Medicine”
As part of Amman Arab University’s vision to enhance extracurricular activities that open new intellectual and health horizons for students, the Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized a lecture titled “Horse Riding Between Authentic Heritage and Modern Medicine.” This event was held in cooperation with Forest Hill Equestrian Club and supervised by Dr. Nuseibah Al Qtaish, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and an equestrian enthusiast.
The lecture highlighted horse riding as a genuine Arab heritage and a therapeutic art recognized in modern medicine for rehabilitating the musculoskeletal system and providing psychological support.
The event featured Dr. Taj Barakat, a veterinarian specializing in equine medicine, who shared his expertise in sports rehabilitation and show jumping. Also participating was Ms. Alissa Barakat, a seasoned horse riding instructor experienced in teaching children, adults, and individuals with special needs.
During the lecture, attendees were introduced to the services and privileges offered by Forest Hill Equestrian Club to Amman Arab University students and staff, including discounts, training courses, and educational and recreational programs in a safe environment.
At the conclusion of the event, Professor Rana Abu Hwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Mohammad Bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs, praised the importance of such activities in supporting students’ psychological, social, and physical well-being. They emphasized how extracurricular engagements contribute to developing students’ skills and enriching their university experience.
The lecture attracted notable interaction from students and faculty members, who expressed great interest in the opportunities provided by the equestrian sport.
