
Amman Arab University Signs Cooperation Agreement with Arab Medical Center to Train Pharmacy Students and Prepare Them for the Job Market
Reflecting Amman Arab University's commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with national healthcare institutions, the university signed a cooperation agreement with the Arab Medical Center to train and qualify students from the Faculty of Pharmacy in an advanced practical environment that keeps pace with rapid developments in the healthcare sector. The agreement was signed by the university's president, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, and the center's director-general, Dr. Firas Rahhal, in the presence of Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaj, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. May Al-Hawamdeh, Head of the Training Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Rania Al-Wreikat, faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmacy; Mr. Anas Kaso, Assistant Director of the Media and Public Relations Department at Amman Arab University; and from the Arab Medical Center, Pharmacist Manar Hamdan, Director of Pharmacy, and Pharmacist Subhi Al-Mwaqat, Director of Marketing and Business Development.
This agreement aligns with the university's efforts to empower students practically and professionally through field training and direct interaction with medical experts, preparing them for the job market and enhancing their skills in various pharmaceutical fields.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Al-Widyan expressed the university's pride in this constructive collaboration with a prestigious medical institution like the Arab Medical Center. He emphasized that the university adopts a clear approach to networking with national healthcare institutions to elevate pharmaceutical education and training, bridging academic knowledge with practical application. He added that the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University recently obtained international accreditation from the American Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), becoming the first young faculty among private universities to achieve this milestone after meeting all international requirements and standards. This accomplishment reflects the university's commitment to global quality standards and its dedication to preparing qualified pharmacists capable of competing regionally and internationally.
For his part, Dr. Rahhal expressed his pride in partnering with Amman Arab University, stressing that the agreement represents a significant step toward preparing a qualified generation of pharmacists with the expertise and knowledge to deliver high-quality professional services in line with approved healthcare standards. He noted that the Arab Medical Center is one of the most prominent healthcare institutions in the Kingdom and the region, providing services at the highest quality levels and holding several international accreditations that affirm its excellence in healthcare, making it an ideal training environment for pharmacy students to learn about the latest pharmaceutical and medical practices.
Dr. Abu Huwaj stated that this agreement marks a qualitative step toward achieving the faculty's vision of integrating theoretical education with practical application and enhancing students' readiness to enter the job market efficiently and competently. She emphasized that collaborating with a prestigious institution like the Arab Medical Center will provide students with a valuable opportunity to train in a professional, advanced environment under the supervision of elite medical and pharmaceutical experts, contributing to the development of their clinical and professional skills and boosting their future competitiveness.
She also highlighted that the faculty recently launched a Master's program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs, given the scarcity of this specialization and the growing demand for experts in this field across the region. She affirmed that the program offers distinguished education focused on the legal and scientific aspects of the pharmaceutical industry, aiming to qualify specialized professionals capable of enhancing drug safety and protecting public health by ensuring safe and effective treatments. She added that the Faculty of Pharmacy continues its relentless efforts to develop academic and training programs in line with local and international accreditation standards, fulfilling the university's mission of excellence and leadership.
The agreement stipulates providing practical training opportunities for pharmacy students at the Arab Medical Center's facilities under the joint supervision of academic and medical professionals, as well as cooperation in organizing joint training courses and programs to refine students' skills and enhance their competencies in various pharmaceutical specializations.
