Student Najla Washah from Amman Arab University Wins Silver and Bronze at Arab Judo Championship

In a new athletic achievement for Amman Arab University, student Najla Shadi Washah, majoring in Human Resources at the College of Business, secured the silver and bronze medals in the Arab Judo Championship for junior and senior women’s categories. The tournament was held under the patronage of Greater Amman Municipality Secretary Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, with the attendance of Japanese Ambassador to Jordan H.E. Hidemitsu Arai, President of the Jordan Judo Federation Eng. Sultan Al-Awamleh, President of the Asian Judo Union Obaid Al-Anzi, President of the Arab Judo Federation Nauman Shaher, Amman Deputy Mayor Mohammed Al-Qaisi, and representatives from participating countries. The event took place at Princess Sumaya Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City.

This accomplishment aligns with Amman Arab University’s commitment, under the guidance of its president, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, to support and encourage students in participating actively in various local and international sports and cultural events, emphasizing the importance of nurturing students' talents and skills across different fields.

The championship saw wide participation, with around 450 male and female players representing 17 Arab countries. Najla Washah, a member of the Jordanian National Judo Team, achieved the following: Second place in the individual junior women’s category, Second place in the junior women’s team category, Third place in the individual senior women’s category, Third place in the senior women’s team category

In continued support of its outstanding students, Amman Arab University, represented by the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Mohammad Bin Tarif and his assistant Dr. Rami Al- Hanandeh, honored Najla Washah with an appreciation shield in the presence of the dean’s staff. Additionally, the College of Business, represented by its dean Dr. Ahoud Al-Khasawneh, recognized her in appreciation of her honorable participation and double medal win—an achievement that reflects the excellence of the university’s students and its ongoing dedication to nurturing their talents in sports and cultural arenas at both local and Arab levels.
