
Amman Arab University Participates in Periodic Meeting of ASPRO Aviation Safety Project in Cooperation with EU
As part of efforts to strengthen academic and research cooperation between Jordanian universities and the European Union, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and Dr. Anwar Al-Asaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, participated in the periodic meeting of the ASPRO (Aviation Safety Project), upon an official invitation from Turkey’s Eskişehir Technical University. The participation came at the invitation of the European Union and the Erasmus+ program, with the meeting hosted by Eskişehir Technical University, a partner in the project.
The meeting was attended by the EU representative, Prof. Demos, where discussions focused on Amman Arab University’s role in the project and its outcomes. The latest developments in the project and future plans to enhance aviation safety were also reviewed.
Representatives from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Al-Balqa Applied University, and the Middle East Academy also participated, reflecting these institutions' commitment to advancing academic and research collaboration in aviation safety.
Discussions emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and insights among participants and strengthening academic and research partnerships between Jordanian universities and the EU. The meeting also highlighted Amman Arab University’s role in promoting aviation safety through its involvement in the project and its contributions to developing training and research programs in this vital field.
Additionally, the meeting provided opportunities for side discussions among participants, exploring future cooperation and enhancing academic ties between participating universities. These efforts are expected to improve training and scientific research in aviation safety and support the project’s goals of enhancing aviation safety in the region.
