
"A Drop of Blood Means a Life": Amman Arab University Organizes Blood Donation Drive with Wide Participation
Demonstrating its commitment to humanitarian and social responsibility, Amman Arab University's Faculty of Pharmacy organized a blood donation campaign under the slogan "A Drop of Blood Means a Life." The event was supported by the university’s Health Center and conducted in collaboration with the National Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health. Attendees included University President Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, along with faculty, staff, and students from various colleges.
During his participation in the campaign, Dr. Al-Widyan emphasized the university’s ongoing dedication to humanitarian and community-driven initiatives. He highlighted that fostering a culture of giving and social responsibility among students is fundamental to shaping conscientious individuals who contribute to society and their nation.
For her part, Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij stated that this campaign is part of a series of humanitarian initiatives launched by the faculty, reflecting its leadership role in community service and promoting volunteerism and altruism among students and staff. She stressed that the faculty’s mission extends beyond academic education to include serving humanity and upholding noble values, while also commending the efforts of the Student Club Committee, led by Ms. Dina Abu Saleh, for their outstanding organization and promotion of the event.
The campaign witnessed remarkable turnout, collecting approximately 100 units of blood—a significant contribution that will support patients in hospitals and medical centers, potentially saving dozens of lives in critical need of transfusions. This underscores the profound humanitarian and medical impact of the initiative.
Representatives from the National Blood Bank expressed their deep appreciation for the campaign’s success, praising the exceptional organization and wide participation. They emphasized the importance of continuing the partnership with Amman Arab University, given its tangible humanitarian and national benefits.
