A Series of Scientific Competitions for Students of Engineering at Amman Arab University
Based on the vision of the Faculty of Engineering at Amman Arab University to achieve entrepreneurship and excellence in the fields of engineering, scientific research and community service, the Faculty of Engineering at the University organized a series of scientific academic competitions, which were held for the three departments in the college: the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Architecture Engineering, and the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering. The competitions had the participation of many distinguished students of the Faculty of Engineering, and the competitions were organized by setting standards and rules for each competition and forming arbitration committees for each department and then selecting the students who deserved the first positions. Prof. Ikhlas Al-Tarawneh, Vice President of Academic Affairs ,and Assistant President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Mrs. Nadia Al-Qadimat, Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Abdullah Al-Adenat, heads of academic departments, members of the academic and administrative staff, and students of the college. The competitions were distributed as follows:
First: Civil Engineering Department Competition
"The fastest structural analyzer"
The competition focused on developing and disseminating and mastery skills of students with regard to the perception of the behavior of structural elements under different loads. The winners were selected after several rounds that included the participants' structural analysis during a specific time
Second: Competition of the Department of Architecture Engineering
"Designing a gallery for the university"
"The location was selected within Amman Arab University and the students were directed by designing a gallery that serves the university and contains two floors with an area of no more than 330 square meters. The following functions are distributed on:<\br> 1. Showroom 2-store 3- Management room 4. Seating and rest area 5. Health facilities.
"The students of the Department of Architecture Engineering presented the participating projects and the projects submitted by the jury were discussed and 4 qualified projects were nominated to make an explanatory video for each project, and they were presented at the university theater
Third: The competition of the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering entitled:
"Jordan's Energy Future Prediction 2030"
The winners of the three competitions were announced at the University theater and honored by the President of the University and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering
The final results resulted in the following students winning their names for each department separately:
Civil Engineering Department Competition:
First place, student Karam Nasser
The second place is distributed to (student Karam Garkash and student Iman Khalil)
Department of Architecture Engineering Competition:
The first place is the student of Batool Al-Sous
Second place student Mohammed Abu Horan
The third place is distributed to the two students (Qammar Shaabani and Nour Al-Huda Mustafa)
Renewable Energy Engineering Department Competition
First place is the student Ahmed Nabil Ali Al-Afsha.
