Amman Arab University Welcomes Delegation from Plan International

Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, received a delegation from the global organization Plan International, headed by Ms. Hamida Jahama, Country Director of Plan International in Jordan. The meeting, held at the university's headquarters, aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in the fields of education, youth empowerment, development initiatives, and entrepreneurship.

The delegation included several local representatives from Plan International, alongside Dr. Samer Ayasrah, Director of the Center for Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship at the university, and Mr. Youssef Al-Khalid from the same center. From Plan International, attendees included Mr. Mahmoud Al-Karak, Programs Director; Dana Hijazeen, Economic Empowerment Specialist; and Ghadeer Al-Sawa’i, Partnerships Manager.

During the meeting, discussions focused on potential collaboration in implementing programs and projects aimed at enhancing students' skills, improving access to quality education, and promoting economic empowerment and sustainable development. Dr. Al-Widyan highlighted the university’s distinguished role in education, scientific research, community service, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the opportunities it provides to students through its advanced academic programs and infrastructure development. He also acknowledged Plan International’s significant contributions to developmental and humanitarian causes, particularly in health, education, entrepreneurship, and skills development.

For her part, Ms. Jahama reaffirmed Plan International’s commitment to building effective partnerships with academic institutions to achieve shared development goals. She outlined the organization’s key focus areas and diverse programs.

In conclusion, both parties stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and international organizations to implement sustainable development projects that support youth and build their capacities. They agreed to continue coordination in developing a joint action plan to achieve their common objectives.
