Amman Arab University Organizes the 10th Career Day with Extensive Participation from National and Regional Companies and Institutions

Under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Labor, Mr. Khaled Al-Bakkar, Amman Arab University organized its 10th Career Day on campus, with the participation of 114 leading companies and institutions in various fields, including management, pharmacy, information technology, educational and psychological sciences, and aviation sciences.

On behalf of the Minister of Labor, the event was inaugurated by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labor, Mr. Abdullah Al-Jabour, in the presence of the university president, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, the university’s academic affairs vice president, Prof. Dr. Ismail Yamin, several deans of faculties, faculty and administrative staff members, along with the university students.

In his opening speech, Al-Jabour emphasized that organizing such career fairs is part of the Ministry of Labor's executive plan, aiming to provide diverse job opportunities and bridge the gap between institutions and local communities. He praised Amman Arab University's continued organization of this annual event in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, facilitating networking between employers in both the public and private sectors and university students and graduates seeking job opportunities.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Ismail Yamin, speaking on behalf of the university president, noted that Amman Arab University has been consistently organizing Career Day in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor in response to the royal directives aimed at providing job opportunities for young Jordanians, especially university graduates. He added that the university had launched the "Student Skills Portfolio" initiative, the first of its kind in universities, designed to enable students to acquire training skills that prepare them for the job market.

During the event, nearly 363 job applications were submitted by students and graduates to the participating companies, which will undergo the usual recruitment procedures, including interviews and tests. Additionally, the event included a training workshop by Dr. Imad Al- Almuala, a faculty member at the Faculty of Business at Amman Arab University, titled "Writing a Professional CV." The workshop focused on how to prepare a professional CV that helps students stand out in the job market.

It is worth mentioning that this event was organized in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs / Career Counseling and Alumni Follow-up Office, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, and the Amman Arab University Alumni Club, with active participation from various university faculties.
