Amman Arab University Participates in the Launch of ASPRO Project Supported by the European Union
In the presence and participation of the President of the Amman Arab University, all members of the universities concerned, and the project coordinator Professor Nikitas from the Greek Aegean University, the Aviation Safety Professional Diploma ASpro project related to aviation safety was launched. The joint committee held the first face-to-face meeting at Aegean University on the Greek island of Chios.
Professor Fahmy Abu Al-Rub was present on behalf of the University of Science and Technology, on behalf of Al-Balqa University, Professor Tariq Al-Azab and Dr. Abeer Al-Hiyari, on behalf of Amman Arab University, Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Aviation Sciences at the University, and on behalf of the Middle East Academy, Heba Othman, in addition to representatives of European universities from Aegean University, CRETHIDEV Center and University The Turkish Eskisehir Technical University and the Lithuanian Kazimieras Simonavičius University, where the project was launched on Thursday, corresponding to the fourth of May, and the workshops lasted for three days.
The first day began with Professor Nikitas, where he welcomed all the attendees and gave a summary of the project and its management, then Professor Muhammad Al-Widyan spoke about the role of Amman Arab University in the project and gave a presentation of the university and the pivotal role of the College of Aviation Sciences at the university in the project supported by Erasmus+ with an amount of 400 thousand euros, after which a discussion took place. Distribution of project requirements, the mechanism for implementing the academic diploma, the role of the university in implementing it, and the mechanism for requesting materials allocated to each university
On the second day, Mr. Michael from the Creative Thinking Center talked about the mechanism of implementing the project, especially the quality part, and determining the performance indicator (KPI) for the project and its implementation mechanism, followed by Professor Nikitas by talking about the mechanism of implementing the technical reports of the project and periodic financial reports
On the third and final day, the project steering committee was selected and its duties were defined, which are summarized in making operational decisions related to the project that govern the implementation of the grant. It was agreed on the date of the next meeting, which will be held at the Jordan University of Science and Technology.
