Computer Science and Informatics at "Amman Arab University" Organizes the First Annual Cybersecurity Competition AAU-CTF 2023

The College Of Computer Science And Informatics At Amman Arab University Organized The First Annual Cybersecurity Competition (AAU-CTF 2023), In Which Cybersecurity Students From All Academic Levels Participated. The Competition Was Launched In Two Phases. The First Phase Was Held Remotely And Lasted For 36 Hours Punctuated With Guidance And Training Aspects For Students. It Included More Than Fifty Students, Including Twenty Students Qualified For The Second Phase, Which Was Held Face-to-face At The College's Laboratories On The Amman Arab University Campus And Was Characterized By The Character Of Challenge And Competition, Which Included Various Challenges, Including Digital Forensics, Cryptography, Smart Searches, OSINT, Reverse Engineering, And Other Specialized And Various Challenges MisC Challenges. The Students Were Honored. The winners and the distribution of certificates to all participating students, where the first three students won the first places

First place: Alaa Fakhoury.

Second place: student Hamza Abu Saleh.

Third place: student Tala Assaf.

It is worth mentioning that the competition was organized by the Information Technology Department in partnership with the students of the Information Technology Club (IT-Club), including the student Saadi Ashlak, the student Wadih Al-Haddad, the student Qais Al-Saraira, the student Rosa Murad, and the student Elham Thaalji. According to the students, the competition contributed to their acquisition of more personal skills and knowledge in the fields of cybersecurity

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Informatics, Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad, praised the competition, its organization and importance for students. He also praised the level of scientific students and their ability to analyze and solve problems. He congratulated the winners of the first three places and all students for their participation and completion of all stages of the competition. 

It is worth mentioning that the cybersecurity specialization at Amman Arab University includes more than 300 students. The academic department, with its academic and administrative staff, works to implement everything that would raise the level of students and provide them with applied skills side by side and their academic excellence through many agreements and partnerships signed with local and international institutions specialized in the field of cybersecurity such as Cisco Academy, EC-Council
