The Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University participated in an advanced training workshop organized by the Jordanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). Entitled "Methods of E-Learning and Smart Education in Universities," the three-day event was hosted at The University of Jordan Academy.
Representing Amman Arab University was Dr. Jihad Al-Momani, faculty member at the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences. The workshop brought together distinguished academics, experts, and representatives from both public and private Jordanian universities to exchange expertise and build capacities in digital education and the application of artificial intelligence in higher education.
The workshop featured a comprehensive presentation by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Jamni, Director of ICT at ALECSO, highlighting the organization's key projects and achievements in digital transformation and smart learning environments. This included the development of a specialized educational guide for teaching AI technologies in primary and secondary schools across Arab countries. ALECSO also announced a new initiative titled "Skills for Innovation," designed to help Arab educational institutions foster creative thinking and technological analysis skills among students.
A team of ALECSO trainers and experts conducted practical sessions addressing the current state of e-learning in Arab universities, challenges facing this educational model, and methods for analyzing, storing, and processing big educational data using specialized software applications. The sessions provided hands-on experience with relevant technological tools and platforms.
