Amman Arab University Launches "Sports Ambassadors Scholarships": A Golden Opportunity for Outstanding Student Athletes
Amman, Jordan – In a pioneering initiative that combines athletic and academic excellence, the Board of Trustees of Amman Arab University announced the launch of the "Sports Ambassadors Scholarships," aimed at attracting outstanding student athletes to represent the university in various sports and academic forums.
In a statement, the President of Amman Arab University, Professor Mohammad Al-Widyan, emphasized that "these scholarships come as part of the university's commitment to support outstanding young athletes and provide them with the appropriate opportunities to achieve their academic and athletic aspirations." He added, "At Amman Arab University, we believe in the capabilities of our young athletes and strive to empower them to become ambassadors for the university in various arenas." Al-Widyan further noted, "These scholarships are not merely discounts, but an investment in the future of our young athletes, supporting their ambitions to succeed on all levels."
On his part, the Director of the Marketing Department at Amman Arab University, Dr. Mohammad Nassar, urged exceptional student athletes to seize this golden opportunity. He said, "These scholarships are an invaluable chance for outstanding athletes, allowing them to excel both in sports and academics. They provide the necessary support to achieve success in both fields."
It is noteworthy that Amman Arab University will offer eight undergraduate scholarships annually with an 80% discount, specifically for Jordanian students who are outstanding athletes. The scholarships are subject to specific conditions, including that the student must have earned a certificate of athletic excellence in the season prior to their admission to the university. The scholarships apply to students who are members of the national, Olympic, or youth teams in sports overseen by federations recognized by the Jordanian Olympic Committee, based on an officially certified certificate. Alternatively, the student may be a member of a premier league football club or a first-division athlete in other sports, as evidenced by an officially certified certificate from the relevant federation and the Olympic Committee. Additionally, students who have achieved one of the top three positions in an official individual sports championship organized by the relevant federation in Jordan at the national level are also eligible.
