College of Educational Psychological Sciences
The policies and goals of the Graduate College of Educational and Psychological Sciences are derived from the philosophy of the university and stem out of its establishment and development as a modern educational institution on one hand, and the uniqueness of its education on the other hand.
The Graduate College of Educational and Psychological Sciences stresses its respect for the intellect, the scientific methods of research, as well as, its commitment to ethics, truth, integrity, justice and equality.
Goals and Duties
The Graduate College of Educational and Psychological Sciences contributes to performing, in its fields of specialization, the three functions of the University: education, research and community service. It aims to meet the needs of the Jordanian and Arab societies for highly academically qualified and distinguished leaderships in the field of educational studies. The programs and study plans are designed to enable the College to prepare students at the Higher Diploma, Master's and Doctoral levels to work in all societal institutions.
One concern of the college is research in the domains of education that go along with the developments of the modern age. It supports faculty members and graduate studies students to undertake researches that would serve humanity and achieve the desired scientific development.
As for instruction, the College keeps abreast with the latest methods of instruction and learning. It also experiments models of instruction applied by world universities and institutes and adapt them to the Jordanian environment. These models of instruction are tested through field application or research and the respective universities and institutes are then informed of their field and institutional applicability.
Foundation
Pursuant to the statutes of the University for 1999/2000 a decision by the University Council was taken to found the Graduate College of Educational and Psychological Sciences. Admission and instruction at the three levels: Higher Diploma, Master's, and Doctoral in Graduate Educational Studies began in the summer semester of 2000.
