The Arab Centre for Performance Improvement and HRD

FOUNDATION & PHILOSOPHY:

Amman Arab University For Graduate Studies (AAUGS) was established in 1999 to accomplish the three functions of universities, i.e. teaching, research and community service efficiently & effectively. To achieve the function of community service AAUGS established in 2004 The Arab Centre for Research and Consultation, which launched a number of programs, internally & externally. Responding to contemporary trends in management and education the name of the Centre changed to be as above.

Arab and Jordanian organizations face a number of local challenges major among them are deteriorating performance, low productivity and traditional practices in management. They also face international challenges such as globalization and rapid political, economic, social and cultural changes. To overcome these challenges organizations have to adopt innovative and new solutions. We may conclude that Human Performance Technology (HPT) and Human Resources Development (HRD) movements could be of substantial help in this respect.

Performance Improvement (PI) comprises a number of whole and integrated solutions and interventions such as adopting information technology (IT), improving health conditions, development of effective leadership, improving the salaries, teambuilding and conducting research and consulting studies in the workplace. HRD solutions cover a plethora of them such training and development (T&D), education, development of job careers mentoring and coaching of personnel.

These are the philosophical underpinnings of ACPI & HRD to have its new name.
